All 65 of the 1967 Ram Air Firebirds were built in July, 1967 except this one and one other one built in late June, 1967.
It is waiting for a full rotisserie restoration at Level One Restoration, Arvada, CO.
The Pontiac Firebird was introduced in 1967 and produced until 2002.
The Firebird had new styling, twin grilles in a bumper-integrated design, three vertical air slots on the front of the rear body panels, and vent windows in front.
The Ram Air option became available in 1968 and had higher flow heads with stronger valve springs, a modified camshaft, and functional hood scoops. The engine had higher RPM.
Firebirds were introduced in 1967 into the pony car market. It shared its platform with the also new Camaro and was released the same year as the Mercury Cougar.
Styling for the first-generation Firebird was the Coke-bottle design but its bumpers were integrated into the front-end design and its rear “slit” tail lights were similar to the GTO.
Four speed manual and two and three speed automatic transmissions were optional.
First generation Firebirds were made from 1967 – 1969.
