This car has been family owned for thirty years and is a true Nebraska car – all three owners were/are from central Nebraska. It is not only in pristine condition but is completely original and number matching.
Richard and Betty and their friends created the car club “Impala Memories” based in Hastings, NE. Chris Lundquist had the pleasure of growing up with this car and remembers his father’s admonition that classics are best enjoyed while being driven – “They’ve got wheels for a reason!”. The Impala has been road driven the entire time the family has owned it.
The Impala was Chevrolet’s most expensive passenger model in 1963 and one of the best-selling cars in North America at the time.
Full-sized Chevrolets were completely restyled for 1963 and had defined horizontal side-body lines, more trim, and a boxy style. Trim was similar to the Cadillac but emphasized the sheer length of the Impala.
Impala models were well equipped with extra-thick foam seats, paddle-style armrests, additional insulation, and sport-style steering wheels. Models included a sedan, sports sedan, hardtop sport coupe, convertible and station wagons.
The base engine was a 6-cylinder 230 cubic inch with 140 horsepower. Optional V-8 engines included a 327, 409, and 427 with power from 250 to 430 horsepower.
