1916 Saxon Touring Car
Owner: Bernie and Janice Taulborg Collection
This car gives you an idea of how bad the condition of some cars are when they are found, before restoration begins. When you see the other cars in the Classic Car Collection, it’s amazing how far some of these automobiles have come on their journey from the factory floor to reside here in Kearney.
This 1916 Saxon is the first car to successfully make it coast-to-coast across America on the Lincoln Highway Scenic and Historic Byway! While this may not be the EXACT car to make it, it was a Saxon, and now you can see one right on the Byway in Kearney, Nebraska at the Classic Car Collection.
It is a 1916 Saxon Touring Car. It’s that project car that every good car guy has in the garage or the barn or in pieces. (A 1916 Saxon Roadster, fully restored, is in the collection.)
We thought it was important that you see one “BEFORE” before you tour our collection of beautifully restored “AFTERs”.
